 In the field of robotics nursing, we engage in R&D related to the productions of medical devices and measurement instruments for clinical settings, such as software that guides the interactions of communication robots. One of our products is a 3D scanner/printer for patients.

 For patients who are bedridden for long hours, there is an increased occurrence of pressure ulcers. Although air-mattress installation is effective for preventing pressure ulcers, they can still occurred due to the specific physical characteristics of the patient. We developed and produced robotics technologies for the automatic control of the inner pressure of the air-cells on the mattress. This technology senses the patient’s body pressure while in bed.

 Wearing an NPPV mask often results in medical device related pressure ulcers(MDRPU). We are making a prototype attachment that immediately fills the gaps in the three-dimensional shapes between the patient’s face and the mask using 3D technologies. The attachment helps keep appropriate ventilatory volume and reduce pressure.
