Ang Wei How Darryl

I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees from the National University of Singapore. My clinical background includes professional practice in the oncology-hematology unit at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. I am presently appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Global Nursing Research Centre and serve concurrently as a Senior Tutor at the National University of Singapore.

Research conducted at GNRC

My research focuses on the development and implementation of the Death Café model as a strategy to enhance individuals’ readiness for advance care planning. This qualitative study investigates the experiences of healthy community-dwelling adults, aiming to generate insights into the potential of such interventions within a community context.

Future outlook

I intend to use my newly acquired research skills from the GNRC postdoctoral program to train the next generation of nurses and develop new models of care for the Singapore community.

Accomplishments

Under the mentorship of Professor Noriko Yamamoto, I have received funding from the Sasakawa Health Foundation to support my death café research in Japan.
