Global Nursing Research Center Conference 2021

Thank you for joining us at the Global Nursing Research Center Conference 2021 in February. We hosted about 700 participants and received encouraging feedback from many. We uploaded the recording of the conference to our website. We invite you to share it with your colleagues and friends. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. At the conference, we shared that the GNRC was approved as a permanent center. Now we are even more delighted to announce that the GNRC has been newly assigned as a core project of The University of Tokyo and will be permanently funded beginning in April 2021. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for your support and cooperation. We look forward to your continued guidance and encouragement. We believe that this great step is evidence that nursing science has gained publicity and that the need for the nursing is being recognized by society.
The two-and-a-half-hour lecture is divided into three parts.

Part1: Opening remarks - Lecture by Hiromi Sanada, Director

Part2: Introduction of Department research activity by avatars

Part3: Lecture by Professor Doorenbos, University of Illinois - Closing remarks

We received the following feedback and words of encouragement from the participants.
* I was impressed by the steady accumulation of results from the integrated research at the GNRC.
* I was very inspired by the efforts of the GNRC members of the University of Tokyo. I felt that the future of nursing research is being driven toward the application and practice. I am grateful this opportunity was extended to universities in provincial cities. I think that this initiative was a good response to the COVID pandemic. While I do not think that I have the power to do research and create systems like you, I too hope to support the dreams of the next generation. We also hope to continue to receive knowledge that we can utilize in practice.
* I would like to reach out to the master's and doctoral students all over Japan. Why are you doing research now? I have seen many researchers who become worried and burn out. Many do not maintain the motivation they felt at the beginning of their schooling. We should consider how to maintain mental resilience as we apply our research results to our patients. Everything was inspiring. Furthermore, the conference was held with the latest technologies, and the time seemed to fly by. The last moderator said, "May we be the answer to someone's prayer!" which I thought was wonderful. I would like to continue the collaboration. Thank you very much.
* I was surprised by how well-devised the conference was. I expected the conference to be hosted virtually due to the corona pandemic, but there were many positive points about the new virtual platform. I was fascinated by the latest style of conferences.
* I felt that the research and activities showed how Japan is leading nursing science. I was very encouraged.
* I got a good understanding of the purpose of GNRC's activities and future nursing.
* I thought that producing this conference must have required a lot of effort. I would love if it could be made available so that I could watch it again later.
