In a seminar on effective presentation, tips for posters were shown, some students shared their power point and posters and other participants gave them informative feedback. In a seminar of leadership, all participants wrote down their 5-year goals and specific plans to achieve those goals: when, what, whose help and discussed with others. Imagining and thinking your own self in the future was a fulfilling time.

There were three reasons I wanted to participate these GNRC seminars. First, it was such a good opportunity to hear the lectures by a professor from abroad in Japan. Second, I wanted to listen to the lectures designed for Post Doc fellows on the topic I self-learned. Third, as a young researcher, I wanted to evaluate my past career and develop a new career map before I start carrying out my own projects as PI.
I participated in almost all seminars and lectures on research method, presentation, career development. I was able to capture my research and career objectively in bird’s eye view and it gave me such a valuable opportunity to learn how I can improve my research project. It was very stimulating to listen to active questions and discussions among participants and Meg sensei.
Since I rarely go abroad nor participate in international project, it was such a precious chance for me to be able to attend seminars in English here in Japan. I would like to use what I have learned and try to share my research through research paper and presentation. Thank you very much for such a great learning opportunity.
